Currently I'm on W7 but will be going W10 shortly.

For system backups I've used Acronis for years. The 2015 version is so seriously dumbed down it's unusable. You can't even select which backup versions to delete; you either use their automatic cleanup, or, delete the files manually and suffer the program not finding the versions you've deleted.

I've gone back to 2012. At least there I can see the backup's timeline and delete which ever versions I want.

Time to move forwards! 2015 will work on W10 but the fact it's complete junk means I will have to look elsewhere for a complete backup solution.

Program suggestions welcome

EaesUS ToDo Workstatioon.(Unlike other proggies, it sees ALL partitions, even the hidden ones) I use it for full system image backups and in fact, just restored from an image on this rig when Win 10 proved to be a major letdown. So far, it has never failed me.

Fuzzy...Acronis might have gone too far in the "usability/friendly" direction. I'm using the 2013 version.

Wiz, I'm really glad you have the program.

FUZZY  I used acronis till the 2014 came out,  and put in the trash I switch  to AOMEI now witch is pretty good.  Give a spin and see Wat you think .

Still using Acronis 2015 ....don't like using things smarter than I am.....and with this one I'm safe as houses...

It only gently fucks-up now and then... but generally I keep on top of it...and I know it works having used it for what it's designed ...and without drama.

Normal data backup is handled with Syncback ..... not quite as dumb but even more competent...

I resisted the temptation to 'upgrade' Acronis to the 2015 edition and like Jafo use it and SyncBack routinely.  Once set up, they just quietly do their thing, flawlessly - until the USB drive dies.

How do the experienced users rate these 'free' backup software packages?
